Did you know that all of the above morning kickstarters offer their own unique benefits? We chose to include specific ingredients within our eBook because they are just that, brimming with health. Here are our top ten tips for healthy ingredients that fast became essentials as the eBook was created.

1. Loose leaf tea
Served chilled over ice in summer, or as a perfect heart warming start to a winters day. Recently we took you on a DIY journey to make your own herbal tea. Read that post and the many health benefits of tea here.

2. Maca
The most wonderful earthy flavour, Maca has been touted for its hormone balancing and energising properties, which you can read more about here. Definitely an everyday staple in my life.

3. Molasses
Did you know that long term consumption of molasses has been linked to hair regrowth in men?! If possible, look for organic and unsulfured molasses. Sulfured means its nutritional content has been reduced (through treating the molasses with sulfites).

4. Turmeric
Untreated inflammation in the body can lead to a myriad of chronic health issues, allergies, heart disease and cancer, to name a few. Enter the healing power of nature! Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant and adds beautiful colour to your meals too. It complements juicing ingredients so of course we show you how!

5. Mandarin
Most of us peel away the white pith of a mandarin, but did you know you are discarding SO many nutrients? Rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C, be sure to include the pith the next time you chuck a mandarin in the juicer. 6. Walnuts

7. Acai
Acai bowls are really taking off within the healthy crowds, and for great reason - the acai berry is a nutrient marvel. Brimming with antioxidants, a bowl of this fruit in the morning (paired with quality protein and fats too) will have you feeling alert and raring to go.

8. Coconut Yoghurt
We really focused on making this eBook intolerance friendly and provided options for the dairy free amongst us. Coconut Yoghurt became a staple, for use in baking moist and luscious cakes and for dolloping on top of granolas. We grew to love it for its rich texture, the ease at which you can make it yourself, and of course the myriad of health benefits (which you can read about here).

9. Nut milks
So easy to prepare. Nuts and water and voila, nut milk on hand! Dairy (which can prove quite inflammatory for some), is not needed when there is a great substitute on hand. Don't discount sesame milk either!

10. Flaxseeds
Did you know that that by mixing 2.5 tablespoons of ground flax with 3 tablespoons water and then setting in the fridge for 10 minutes will perfectly replicate an egg in baking? We grew to love flaxseeds as they gave us versatility in egg free baking. A great way to include healthy protein and fats in your meals too.
