It would be fairly obvious to anyone subject to my instagram feed that I'm all over the egg AKA "magic bullet" (see previous posts for further confirmation) certainly for it's nutritional value but also because of it's versatility for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So you can imagine my delight when I was introduced to this "5 minute, 40/45 second egg" - because I kid you not, it is fool AND fail proof. I should add that I can't take full credit for this little delight. That goes directly to one of my (hugely inspirational) fellow instagramers known as @dane11sen (to us instagramers) or The Healthy Tradie to Facebookers. Just as an FYI, Dane is well worth a follow, whatever your social media 'bent'. Okay, let's crack on (sorry, couldn't help myself). This is what you do (don't blink or you'll miss it):

Place room temperature egg (prevents the egg from cracking) in a saucepan of boiling water for 5 minutes and 40 or 45 seconds. 40 seconds always works well for me but the expert (Dane) suggests it's better at 45 so see what works for you. Remove the egg and sit in icy cold water for a few minutes. Gently peel the egg and roll (optional) in whatever tickles your fancy (e.g. dukkah, sesame seeds, hemp seeds (as shown) etc). Pop your egg on your healthy dish and voila - egg perfection.
