Well here's a recipe to get your nuts sizzling.

This is a perfect substitute for those unhealthy packaged mueslis and cereals (seeya refined sugar and unnecessary preservatives), a super quick breakfast idea that you can whip up in 5 mins flat, whack them on a plate and devour. You could also sprinkle these babies over hearty smoothies (#crunchfactor), upon chia puddings (great recipe here), or just nibble trail mix style as you're heading out the door.

You'll need:
1 heaped teaspoon coconut oil or coconut butter
1/3 cup mixed nuts (I used activated walnuts, pecans and cashews)
1 handful of coconut flakes (or more!)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons pure maple syrup or rice malt syrup (optional)

Heat coconut oil in a saucepan over medium heat, add the cinnamon and heat until it becomes fragrant (30 seconds or so).

Throw in the nuts and sauté for 2-3 minutes, then add the coconut flakes. Keep sauteing until it all starts to brown, another 2-3 minutes. Coconut flakes burn quickly so keep an eye on it. Drizzle with sweetener if desired and combine.

To serve, sprinkle over a chia pudding, on salads, smoothies or simply nibble as a trail mix snack. A simple yet effective taste sensation.
