When was the last time you had to make a big decision, a potentially life changing decision? One of those moments where you know you are staring down a fork in the road. Should you go left? Go right? Your decision is crucial to your future, as you choose your own adventure. So do you listen to your head, or to your heart?

The rational mind is a powerful thing.

But ultimately, your intuition rules.

Have you ever made a decision based solely on logic, while FEELING that it may not be the right way? Only to end up regretting it later?

By learning to respect the power of your intuition you can indeed foster a more fulfilled and meaningful life. A life that is more authentic to you.

“I define intuition as the subtle knowing without ever having any idea why you know it,” explains Sophy Burnham, bestselling author of The Art of Intuition, to The Huffington Post. “It’s different from thinking, it’s different from logic or analysis … It’s a knowing without knowing.”

Intuition is your unconscious reasoning.

It is the guidance that quietly whispers to you the answer that will lead you to the very best outcome possible. In fact, it is our intuitive insights that often unfold more about ourselves, our decisions and our lives than our many years of experience and knowledge.

But it's no wonder that our intuition can guide us in such a manner. Not only does the heart emit its own balancing and regulating hormones, it also communicates electromagnetic and chemical information to the whole of the body, and to bodies around it. Did you know that the heart has a magnetic field that is 5000 times greater in strength than the field generated by the brain?

Can you let go, and just give your intuition a chance?

We're here to show you how:

1. Find time for silence, time to just sit and listen. What do you 'hear'. Slowing down your mind through meditation is a powerful way to connect to our energetic heart.

2. Get creative. Draw, paint, write, make music - does the answer manifest?

3. Retreat to the outdoors. Nature has a way of bringing you back to your roots.

4. Learn the signs of your body. Have you ever felt sick to your stomach after making a (wrong?) decision? Quite possibly it's not too late to turn back.

5. Know that you can let go. You don't have to control everything and life will happen regardless of whether you choose to overthink it or not. Deep breath.

A 2013 study in the journal Psychological Science found that being in a good mood boosted participant’s abilities to make intuitive calls in a word game. Working on becoming more intuitive requires you to adopt healthier habits and a healthier mindset.

So, can you get out of your head and into your heart?
