Bowl of creamy vanilla goat whey protein porridge with stewed apple on bench

There’s nothing quite like a warm bowl of porridge on a cold winter morning - especially when it combines comfort, protein and fibre in one delicious bowl.

This creamy vanilla porridge pairs our Creamy Vanilla Goat Whey Protein with rolled oats, chia seeds and stewed apple for a nourishing breakfast that feels as good as it tastes.

Oats, chia and apples each provide different types of fibre, including naturally occurring pectin in the apple, helping to support healthy digestion and nourish the beneficial bacteria in our gut.

Finished with creamy yoghurt, hemp seeds and cinnamon, it’s a simple and satisfying way to begin the day.

Bowl of creamy vanilla goat whey protein porridge with stewed apple on bench
Serves 2
For the porridge:
3/4-1 cup rolled oats
2 tablespoons chia seeds
2.5 cups milk of choice, plus extra if needed
2 heaped tablespoons Creamy Vanilla Goat Whey Protein
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt
For the stewed apple (there's enough here so you have extra for the week)
4-6 green apples, peeled and diced
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons water
Optional: 1 teaspoon maple syrup, coconut sugar or honey
To serve:
Yoghurt
Hemp seeds
Extra cinnamon

Make the stewed apple ahead of time if easier for your mornings. Add the diced apples, cinnamon and water to a small saucepan. Cover and cook gently for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft. Add a little maple syrup or honey if desired.

Meanwhile, place the oats, chia seeds, milk, cinnamon and salt in a saucepan. Heat until bubbling and then cook over low-to-medium heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring regularly, until thick and creamy. Add another splash or two of milk if needed, the chia absorbs lots of it.

When the porridge is almost done, stir the goat whey protein through until completely smooth, adding extra milk if the porridge becomes too thick.

Divide between two bowls and top with the warm stewed apple, yoghurt, hemp seeds and an extra sprinkle of cinnamon.
