Everyday strength bliss ball recipe

This healthy bliss ball recipe was a complete accident.

I didn’t measure with any real intention, I didn’t write anything down, I wasn’t testing for the website. I had a few ingredients in the pantry, felt like something nourishing, and started blending. And then - magic!

The mixture took a little patience in the blender (those nuts and seeds make it work for its smoothness), but once it came together into a tacky, rollable consistency, I knew we were onto something. If your mix feels a little dry, simply add a touch more coconut oil until it holds together beautifully.

What came out the other end is one of those deeply satisfying, naturally sweet, protein-rich snacks that actually sustains you — not just gives you a quick hit and leaves you rummaging again 20 minutes later.

Why These Bliss Balls Work So Well

These aren’t just sweet treats. They’re little nutrient-dense powerhouses.

  • Medjool dates & dried apricots provide natural sweetness, fibre and quick-release carbohydrates for energy — ideal before Pilates, a walk, or even a long ride.

  • Almonds, cashews and pepitas bring healthy fats, plant protein and important minerals like magnesium and zinc, which support energy production and muscle function.

  • Hemp seeds add complete plant protein and omega-3 fats — beautiful for brain health and overall vitality.

  • Protein powder boosts the staying power, helping support muscle repair and balanced blood sugar.

  • Coconut oil provides nourishing fats that help slow glucose release and keep you satisfied.

  • Maca powder has long been used to support stamina, resilience and overall wellbeing — something I always appreciate in midlife.

The combination of fibre, protein and healthy fats means these bliss balls don’t spike and crash. They fuel steadily. They satisfy properly. They feel grounding. And perhaps the best part? They taste like something far more indulgent than they actually are.

Sometimes the best recipes aren’t carefully crafted over weeks. They’re the happy accidents born from instinct, a stocked pantry, and a willingness to experiment.

This one is absolutely staying on rotation.

Everyday strength bliss ball recipe
Makes about 15 balls
10 medjool dates
6 dried apricots
1 cup of nuts (I used cashews and almonds)
1/4 cup pepitas
1 tablespoon hemp seeds
3/4 cup coconut flakes
2 scoops of vanilla or unflavoured protein (30g)
1 dessertspoon maca powder
1 tablespoon ghee or coconut oil

Throw all of the ingredients into a high powered blender and blend until the mixture is just starting to get tacky. Don't over blend or the oils will release from the nuts and the balls won't hold together. If you find your mixture is too dry add an extra tablespoon of oil.

Roll into balls, and store in the fridge to enjoy when the moment feels right.
