The top ten healthy (and savoury) Christmas recipes going around.
Well you've probably by now seen my 'top ten healthy (and sweet) Christmas recipes going around' post. I guess that means I might just be a sweet over savoury kinda gal. Whatever the case, we can't be expected to wolf down cake, fudge and gingerbread throughout the festive season now can we (or can't we?), so I've taken it upon myself to find a top ten of the savoury healthy Christmas food kind. Again, make like 1995, grab a pen and paper and get those menus done!
Full credit for all photos goes to the owner of the recipe/website - all links to the recipes and websites within.
1. Chicken Coconut Beet Leaves
One look at these and all I could think of was "Oh! Betel leaves!"(You know the ones don't you? Often found at smart asian-inspired restaurants, looking just like this). Anyway, the humble betel leaf isn't that easy to find so how happy was I when I spotted the beet leaf inclusion! Any Tom, Dick or Harry could find one of those! So, my suggestion? Make these beauties your first hoover doovers of the day.
Oh, the recipe. You'll definitely need that. Here'tis.
2. Raw Zucchini Party Roll Ups
Well of course, we must have choice! What if there's a plant based lover in the house who insists on raw? Fear not! Roll on up dear little zucchini party in the mouth roll ups, roll right up!
Oh, the healthy christmas recipe. You can't roll without the recipe.
3. Beetroot Salad with Candied Walnuts, Feta and Mint
The lovely Camilla got me at 'candied walnuts'. Candied walnuts you say? Why yes please! And combined, this pretty little picture makes a pretty little party in our mouths, does it not!

4. Pesto Potato Salad
No festive get together is complete without a potato salad, surely Shirley. This plant based number is made by our plant based queen of a friend Buffy-Ellen who knows how to de-dairy (actually, de-animal) absolutely everything, to the very tastiest of effect.
Go boil some potatoes and get creative folks, learn how here.
5. Raw Zucchini Pasta with Smoked Salmon and an Avocado and Dill Pesto
By The Holistic Ingredient AKA moi.
As you'll read if you go check out this recipe, this 'pasta' dish will not only serve to improve your brain function but it's also far more easily digestible than it's tummy filling cousins from the wheat family. I'll eat it just for the brain function bonus.

6. Maple Roasted Carrots and Parsnips with Pistachios, Cranberries and Sage
Being as she is my nutritionist, I'm inclined these days to believe everything Jess says; so if she tells me this combo is "the bomb" then who am I to argue. Jess knows her way around her kitchen, that bit's all too clear.
Candied carrots and parsnips she says? Go get'em!
7. Macadamia, Garlic and Parsley Crusted Rack of Lamb (with Roasted Balsamic Potatoes)
Irena is a bit of an expert when it comes to eating and drinking paleo, so if paleo is your 'fancy' (or even if it's not), I dare say your dining table needs to see this rack. I mean just look at it, in all it's fancy!
Go get crusty folks, right here.
8. Christmas Roast Turkey Roll.
By The Holistic Ingredient AKA moi.
Some would argue, though many (many) would not, no festive table is properly adorned without turkey, rolled turkey to be exact. A turkey breast virgin I was when making this dish, thereby making it almost impossible to fail it.
Roll baby roll, right here.
9. Cauliflower Pizza with Gourmet Tomatoes
Alice gets a few mentions on my site and for very good reason. Today she gets a mention because I feels she's got the little people's tummies at heart when she recommended this rather delectable looking pizza. Feed them good wholesome food yes, yet why not make it a little fun at the same time. It's safe to say the bigger people will be eyeing off this beauty too.
Go create some pizzaz and learn how here.
10. Spicy Mango Chutney
I'd consider a Christmas table undressed without a chutney, wouldn't you? Thankfully Rachael came to the rescue with this rather delectable and sugar free condiment. Imagine if I'd left you all high and dry, condiment free, on Christmas Day? Imagine!
So, go grab your fave summer fruit and get chopping. Whizz it up here.
And don't forget folks, if you're looking for sweet, sweet Christmas food inspo, I've got you covered, right here.
